Some urban landscapes represent an utopian, fictitious rebuilt world.

They become a cinema set from which you can perceive the flip side.

Streets are suspended in space.

Floating freely, in silence.

///SHIFTS

An architectural residue stemming from a subterranean movement in the street of a city.

This new formal Entity, or Element, is characterized by a mineral and organic state.

Brought out of the chaos, it offers a new reading of the ground:

redrawing street circulation, it also changes the atmosphere of an urban space.

Redefines it with new rules.

An Entity keeps a living energy within - it can be spread if necessary.

The light, the shade warms it and identifies it.

It is an architectural language.

"Au départ, il y a un support identique, une expression et une couleur commune: un rouleau de calque de 33 cm de

large / 20 m de long; le dessin, tracé en noir.

Chacun, de son côté, se jette sur cette immense longueur.

Un déroulement, une vague, une trajectoire – des pistes personnelles qui sondent une impression d’infini, à tâtons, à

l’instinct.

Le dessin se construit, l’espace s’organise, à force d’expérience répétée du format, de sa mémoire.

 

Les gakan chinois puis les emaki japonais sont des narrations horizontales; ils racontent des épopées historiques,

des chroniques littéraires, une succession d’anecdotes.

 

Ici, cela prend la forme d’un cheminement en aller-retour, un bout d’histoire, un état, une plongée dans trois univers

suspendus dans l’espace de la galerie."MB
